Sonoma Public Infrastructure

Sonoma Public Infrastructure was created in 2022, consolidating two county departments, General Services and Transportation and Public Works to maximize efficiency, reduce redundancy, and improve delivery of services. Among its many responsibilities across Sonoma County’s 1,369 square miles, Public Infrastructure oversees public building repair and maintenance, infrastructure and capital projects, airport, water systems, multiple waste disposal sites, transit, and internal administrative services in addition to repairing and maintaining all Sonoma-county roads.

Looking Back at 2025

2025 began with responding to storm-related damage and ends with weather-related road closures—but in between, there was resilience, progress, and partnership. From repairing landslide-impacted roads to reopening vital routes and supporting community events, this year showcased what’s possible when we move forward together. Thank you to our community, the Board of Supervisors, and our dedicated staff for your support, collaboration, and commitment throughout the year.
