Sonoma Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair to be held on April 15

SANTA ROSA, CA | March 30, 2026

Sonoma Valley Community Health Center, in partnership with the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management, will host the Sonoma Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair on Wednesday, April 15. The event is open to all community members and will be held at Altimira Middle School from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Sonoma Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair is a fun and engaging community event to raise awareness, increase safety, and reduce preventable harm through individual and family activities that arm people with knowledge and supplies to help protect them and their loved ones during an emergency or natural disaster. The event timing aligns with California’s Earthquake Preparedness Month in April and Wildfire Preparedness Week in May.

“The fair provides hands-on learning opportunities, emergency preparedness supplies, and useful resources to community members to help keep residents and their loved ones safe during an actual emergency or natural disaster," said Nancy Brown, Community Preparedness Program Manager with the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management.

“Knowledge is power, and our goal is to empower our community and increase safety and wellbeing through this event,” said Sara Brewer, CEO of SVCHC.

A main attraction will be the Big Shaker, the world’s largest mobile earthquake simulator, which will allow attendees to safely experience the force of an 8.0 magnitude earthquake. The fair will also feature booths from local and county emergency response agencies and partner organizations, including the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management. Attendees can enjoy interactive demonstrations, giveaways, raffles, and family‑friendly activities.
