Foster a Shelter Animal

We are working on making our foster materials ADA compliant. If you have questions about fostering and what's required, please send an email to SCASFosters@SonomaCounty.gov.

If you have fostered for us before or are experienced foster, please complete our Foster Program Application

Once we receive your application , we will review it and contact you regarding next steps. Reviewing and processing generally takes up to two weeks.

We are seeking weekend vacation homes for our shelter dogs.  Fostering is a special way to make a difference for shelter animals and allows you to test out a dog in your home. By providing a weekend home, you will help the dogs:

• De-stress
• Feel loved
• Improve their well-being 
• Give insight into their behaviors for potential adopters 
• Acclimate into a calm and stable home environment while awaiting adoption

We provide all of the foster supplies needed. We are grateful to all of the wonderful people who provide foster homes and look forward to hearing from you!
