Alex Garcia Ramirez

As an advocate for equality, fairness, and diversity, Alex has contributed time and dedication to causes and agencies that work towards promoting and creating opportunities for all. Alex believes in the importance of every person having access to the same opportunities to improve. Whether wanting to open a new business, developing a new skill, or purchasing a home everyone should be aware of all available options and how to obtain it.
Alex holds a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Sonoma State and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills. All throughout his educational career he has been associated with organizations that assist entire populations, specially underrepresented groups. While at La Luz Center, Catholic Charities, North Marin Community Services (In Marin County), and currently at the Community Development Commission Alex has worked to push consistency in policies and programs that will create future success for the community.
Alex is passionate about being involved in the success of others, particularly those individuals who may have had to overcome failure after failure to be where they want (or plan) to be. He is looking forward to his term in this commission, to work with the community to lessen the social justice gap. In his free time, Alex enjoys hikes, traveling, and good shows on Netflix.
