Sylvie V De La Cruz

On February 24, 2026, the Commission on Human Rights recognized Sylvie V. De La Cruz, Regional Director of Substance Use Services at Buckelew Programs, for over 20 years of leadership in recovery services. She was honored with a Gold Resolution for reopening Athena House, supporting Hope Village, establishing six sober living homes for women and women with children, and helping more than 1,200 women achieve sobriety and stability. She is a champion of Human Rights.

County of Sonoma Board of Supervisors recognizes Black History Month in Sonoma County

County of Sonoma Board of Supervisors passed a gold resolution on February 10, 2026 requested by the Commission on Human Rights alongside with NAACP, PBCD, North Bay Black Chamber of Commerce, and Sonoma County's Community Equity Foundation recognizing the 100 years of Black History Commemorations in Sonoma County.
