Sonoma County Registrar of Voters marks three months at new Brickway location with May 1 ribbon-cutting event
SANTA ROSA, CA | April 22, 2026
The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 1, at noon, to mark three months at its new office location near the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.
The event comes just days before early voting begins for the June 2, Statewide Direct Primary Election. Vote-by-Mail ballots will be mailed starting Monday, May 4, and voters can begin voting in person at the new Brickway location that same day.
The successful move from Fiscal Drive to Brickway Boulevard highlights a major investment in modernizing County facilities and expanding capacity for public services, including elections.
County leaders, including Sonoma County Executive David Guhin and Supervisor David Rabbitt, will join the event at 3880 Brickway Blvd. The ceremony is open to the public and will include the unveiling of a new Peanuts on Parade Snoopy and Woodstock sculpture recognizing the importance of voting.
“This investment in our facilities is an investment in our workforce and the future of Sonoma County,” said Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo, Chair of the Board of Supervisors. “By creating spaces that better support our employees, we are strengthening our ability to serve the community.”
The Brickway campus is part of the County’s long-term facilities strategy to provide modern, functional workspace and improve public access to services. The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters is the first department to operate from the site, with additional departments expected to transition in phases.
“With the continued growth of our county and the increasing number of registered voters, our office has needed to expand to meet the demands of our public,” said Evelyn Mendez, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters. “This new location provides the space and functionality we need to better serve voters and candidates while maintaining the integrity of our elections.”
The project was delivered through coordinated efforts led by Sonoma County Public Infrastructure, with construction continuing toward full completion.
“This project reflects innovative approaches to real estate and facility planning that support our employees in delivering essential services,” said Johannes J. Hoevertsz, director of Sonoma County Public Infrastructure. “We are proud to help create a modern, efficient workspace that meets the needs of both staff and the public.”
As departments move into the campus over time, the project represents a broader effort to strengthen County infrastructure and support delivery of services to the community.
The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except county holidays). For questions, please visit SoCoVotes.com, call (707) 565-6800 (Toll-Free: (800) 750-VOTE (8683); TDD: (800) 565-6888), or email rov-info@sonomacounty.gov.
