Sonoma County fairgrounds celebrates 250 years of freedom with fireworks, World Pillow Fighting Championships

SANTA ROSA, CA | June 02, 2026

The Sonoma County Fair and Events Center is excited to announce Red, White & Pillow Fights, a community celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence. The event will feature one of the largest fireworks displays in Sonoma County, along with family-friendly entertainment, food, music, and the return of a beloved local tradition—Pillow Fighting Championships.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy an evening of summer fun at the fairgrounds, located at 1350 Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa. Gates open at 5 p.m., and admission is $10 per person. Come enjoy local food vendors, live music, and activities for all ages throughout the evening. The fireworks spectacular will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The event will also mark the return of a Sonoma County favorite—the World Pillow Fighting Championships. This crowd-pleasing competition challenges contestants to use pillows to knock their opponents into a pit of mud, creating an unforgettable spectacle for participants and spectators alike.
