For Immediate Release
Deadline for voters to cure ballot signature issues is December 1 at 5 p.m.
SANTA ROSA, CA | November 24, 2025
Signature “cure” forms that were sent to voters whose ballot envelope signatures were either missing or mismatched for the November 4 Statewide Special Election must be completed and received at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office no later than Monday, December 1, at 5 p.m., according to Evelyn Mendez, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters.
Every major election, county staff devote hundreds of hours to checking signatures on ballot envelopes. Each voter whose ballot envelope is missing a signature or has a signature that does not sufficiently compare to their voter file is sent a signature “cure” form. If the form is filled out, signed, and received by the deadline, and the new signature compares to one in that voter’s file, then the ballot is considered “cured”. Cured means the ballot will be counted and included in the official certified election results.
Voters can cure signature issues online by going to https://ca.omniballot.us/sites/06097/default/app/statement/vr or download a form on our website at SoCoVotes.com – go to Signature Cures.
