Signature “cure” forms that were sent to voters whose ballot envelope signatures were either missing or mismatched for the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary Election must be completed and received at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office no later than Wednesday, June 24, at 5 p.m., according to Evelyn Mendez, Sonoma County Registrar of Voters.

Every major election, county staff devote hundreds of hours to checking signatures on ballot envelopes. Each voter whose ballot envelope is missing a signature or has a signature that does not sufficiently compare to the voter’s signature(s) in their registration file is sent a signature “cure” form. If the form is filled out, signed, and received by the deadline, and the new signature compares to the one in the voter’s registration file, then the ballot is considered “cured,” meaning it will be counted and included in the official certified election results.

Voters can cure signature issues in two main ways:

  • Go to https://ca.omniballot.us/sites/06097/default/app/home, click on the “Continue” button under “Fix a challenge to my VBM return identification envelope,” enter your name and birthdate, and follow the instructions to manually “draw” your signature with a mouse or your finger.
  • Paper form. All voters with signature issues should have been mailed a form, but if they have not received it, they can download a form by going to socovotes.com and clicking on the Signature Cure Form link under the “June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election” heading. After printing and filling out the form, they can return it by:
