Candidate nomination period for November 3 General Election extended to August 12 for certain offices

NOTE: A version of this press release sent out on Aug. 10 included an incomplete list of offices. This is an updated list.
Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Evelyn Mendez announced that candidate nominations for the following offices up for election in November have been extended to close of business on Wednesday, Aug. 12 because one or more incumbents who were eligible to file did not do so by the Aug. 7 deadline.

Individuals eligible to run for a school or special district office during the extension period must obtain and file their nomination papers in person at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office by close of business on Aug. 12. Please note that the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office recently moved. It is now located at 3880 Brickway Blvd., Santa Rosa, CA 95403. It is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except for county holidays). Individuals eligible to run for a municipal office must obtain and file their nomination papers at the appropriate city/town clerk’s office by close of business on Aug. 12. Check with the city/town’s clerk for their specific hours, location, etc.
