Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector Erick Roeser announces he will not seek re-election for a third term

SANTA ROSA, CA | March 06, 2026

SANTA ROSA, CA – Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector (ACTTC) Erick Roeser announced today that he will not seek re-election in the upcoming election. After more than 32 years of public service, including nine years leading the ACTTC Office, Roeser cited thoughtful reflection and discussions with his family in making the decision.

“It has been the greatest honor and privilege of my professional life to serve the people of Sonoma County,” Roeser said. “I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me by the voters, the strong working relationship with the Board of Supervisors, and the exceptional ACTTC team whose dedication and professionalism make our work possible.”

During his tenure, the ACTTC Office strengthened financial transparency and accountability, earned top honors for excellence in financial reporting, and maintained a resilient investment portfolio that safeguards public funds. Roeser emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the collective work of the ACTTC staff and the County’s commitment to high-quality financial stewardship.

Assistant ACTTC Amanda Ruch, a Certified Public Accountant who has served Sonoma County for 15 years, including eight years as Assistant ACTTC, has filed to run for the office.

“Amanda is a highly qualified and dedicated public servant,” Roeser said. “I believe she would serve Sonoma County with integrity, transparency, and prudent financial management.”

Roeser affirmed his continued commitment to serving the County through the end of his term.

“In the months ahead, I will continue to advance ongoing initiatives, support a smooth transition for my successor, and ensure the office remains fully prepared to meet its statutory and fiduciary responsibilities without interruption.”
