Memorial to recognize 43 lives lost in Sonoma County’s unhoused community this year
On Dec. 19, two days before National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, HomeFirst and the Sonoma County Department of Health Services will host a memorial to honor the 43 individuals who lost their lives between Jan. 1 and Nov. 30 while living without housing in Sonoma County. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Arlene Francis Center, 99 6th St., Santa Rosa, and is open to the public. The space is being provided by FS Global, and Community Foundation Sonoma County granted the needed funding to host the memorial. Read full story

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (Department) is pleased to invite you to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Electronic Health Records System. The Department is seeking a vendor that has experience providing comprehensive EHR systems in a California County Department or Division of Public Health Services. The system should be a single, comprehensive solution to address public health and medication and case management workflows and documentation. 2025 Notice of Funding Opportunity CoC Program Competition and Sonoma County CoC Request for Proposals
On November 13, 2025, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for 2025 Continuum of Care Funds. Sonoma County applicants are eligible to compete for a combined total of approximately $4.2 million in new and renewal FY 2025 Continuum of Care (CoC) project funding. Dr. Michael Stacey named Sonoma County interim health officer
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today appointed Dr. Michael Stacey as Sonoma County’s interim health officer, replacing Dr. Karen Smith, who has held this role since last October. His appointment becomes effective Nov. 1 and will extend through Oct. 31, 2026 unless the County successfully recruits a permanent health officer prior to that date. Read full story
Sonoma County Homeless Coalition Board 2026 Elections - Nominations due November 20th
The Sonoma County Homeless Coalition Board is the decision-making body of the Sonoma County Continuum of Care. The Sonoma County Continuum of Care addresses the problems of housing and homelessness by having a countywide, community-informed, and person-centered CoC system that is compassionate, inclusive, financially responsible, equitable, coordinated, and outcomes based.
