The Sonoma County Health Officer today issued the following health advisory: Areas of western and central Sonoma County may experience "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups," "Unhealthy," “Very Unhealthy” or “Hazardous” air quality caused by the Prescribed Burn event near Bodega Bay. Certain people may experience adverse health effects from the smoke over Sonoma County and across the region. High temperatures can worsen the effects of high Air Quality Index (AQI) events. RFP Mental Health Patients’ Rights Advocate Services
The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (Department) is pleased to invite qualified organizations and individuals to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Mental Health Patients’ Rights Advocate services for Sonoma County. The successful proposer will protect and promote the rights of individuals receiving behavioral health services by conducting Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) certification review hearings, investigating complaints, notifying patients of their individual rights, monitoring compliance with state and federal patients’ rights requirements, providing education and training, and collaborating with County staff, providers, individuals served and community partners. Sonoma County advances ordinance restricting retail sales and distribution of nitrous oxide
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday advanced an ordinance that would restrict the retail sale and distribution of nitrous oxide and nitrous oxide-dispensing devices in the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County. The proposed ordinance is intended to address growing public health, safety and environmental concerns associated with the non-medical inhalation of nitrous oxide while preserving access for legitimate medical, dental, culinary, automotive, industrial and research purposes Read full story
Notice of Intent to Award: Comprehensive Fee Study Consulting Services RFP
The evaluation panel carefully reviewed and analyzed the proposals received in response to the Comprehensive Fee Study Consulting Services RFP solicitation. Based upon that review and analysis, we are recommending to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors that contracts be awarded to Matrix Consulting Group and Wohlford Consulting. Read full story
Sonoma County to break ground on new youth behavioral health campus at Los Guilicos
Sonoma County officials will break ground on a new youth behavioral health campus at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 322 Hood House Drive in Santa Rosa. The facility will expand access to urgently needed mental health and substance use treatment for adolescents, young adults and their families. Members of the media are invited to attend.
