For Immediate Release
Board of Supervisors to hold annual budget workshops April 20-23
SANTA ROSA, CA | April 15, 2026
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual budget workshops on April 20-23, giving residents an opportunity to learn about the preliminary spending plan for the 2026-27 fiscal year and provide input to the Board of Supervisors before it adopts a final budget in June.
The workshops, which begin at 9 a.m. each day, are informational and the Board will not take action on the 2026-27 budget until the June budget hearings. There will be an opportunity for public comment on the budget at the opening of each day.
“This year’s budget is the start of what we expect will be some challenging years ahead,” said Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo, chair of the Board of Supervisors. “Changes at the federal and state level are putting significant pressure on the services our community relies on every day, and those impacts are likely to grow. These workshops are an important opportunity for the public to learn about what’s ahead, understand the tradeoffs, and help shape the tough budget decisions my colleagues and I will have to make.”
The workshops will include presentations of preliminary 2026-27 budgets by each County department, including requests for budget changes that would expand or restore services. Board members will have an opportunity to ask questions, and the public is encouraged to share feedback during the workshops ahead of final budget decisions.
The four-day workshops will cover all major County departments and services. Residents can review department budget presentations in advance at the Board of Supervisors' online agenda. Here is the schedule:
