Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC)
The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) is a bi-partisan (and in practice, a non-partisan) independent body of five members which oversees a staff of 75 in administration, technical assistance, legal and enforcement divisions.
Levine Act
California Government Code § 84308, commonly referred to as the "Levine Act," prohibits an officer of a local government agency from participating in a proceeding involving a contract, license, permit, or other entitlement for use if the officer accepted, received, or solicited a campaign contribution exceeding $500 from a party or participant, including their agents, to the proceeding within the prior 12 months.
Form 801 Payment to Agency
This form is used to report certain payments received by state and local government agencies.
Form 802 Ticket Reporting
California FPPC requires all County officials who receive complimentary tickets to report acceptance.
Form 806 Agency Report of Public Official Appointments
California FPPC requires each agency to report additional compensation that officials receive when appointing themselves to positions on committees, boards or commissions of an intergovernmental public agency, special district, and joint power agency/authorities.
