Retail Operation Waitlist Information

Storefront and non-storefront (delivery only) retail operations are each capped at 9 (i.e., only 9 of each are allowed to operate in the unincorporated County at one time).

Storefront Retail (Dispensary) Cap

There are currently 7 storefront retail operations with issued permits and 2 in the application process. The cap is full, and the County cannot accept any County Cannabis Business License (CBL) applications for new storefront retail (i.e., dispensaries) at this time. The County will maintain a waitlist for interested operators. CBL applications for storefront retail will only be accepted for the 9 businesses that currently have an issued land use permit or complete application in process. The CBL may be issued to a different address than the current land use permit or application, provided the land use permit is abandoned, or application withdrawn prior to issuance of the CBL. Once a CBL is issued, the business cannot move to a new location without abandoning its spot in the cap.

Non-Storefront Retail (Delivery Only) Cap

There are currently 0 non-storefront retail operations and 0 applications in process. The County can accept 9 County Cannabis Business License (CBL) applications for non-storefront retail (i.e., delivery only). Until the cap is full, the first 9 complete applications will be accepted as they are received; after which, the County will maintain a waitlist for interested operators.

Waitlist 

No application is required to sign up for the waitlist; only basic information, such as your business name and contact information, is required. The waitlist (Microsoft Form) will become available after 9:00 am on July 1, 2026. 

A space on the waitlist does not guarantee a CBL will be issued but will control the order in which prospective operators may submit an application.

After an applicant on the waitlist is alerted that a space within the cap has become available, they will have one year to submit a complete County Cannabis Business License (CBL) application for a specific location. If this timeframe is not met, the slot will be forfeited and will be offered to the next applicant on the list.
