Memorial to recognize 43 lives lost in Sonoma County’s unhoused community this year
On Dec. 19, two days before National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, HomeFirst and the Sonoma County Department of Health Services will host a memorial to honor the 43 individuals who lost their lives between Jan. 1 and Nov. 30 while living without housing in Sonoma County. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Arlene Francis Center, 99 6th St., Santa Rosa, and is open to the public. The space is being provided by FS Global, and Community Foundation Sonoma County granted the needed funding to host the memorial. Read full story

Sonoma County Board of Supervisors to hold workshop on turf fields
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold an athletic field turf workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 16 in the Board Chambers. The purpose of the workshop is to explore the benefits and drawbacks of artificial turf and natural turf athletic fields. Read full story

Sonoma County emergency alerting capabilities uninterrupted following vendor cybersecurity incident
The Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management is informing the community of a cybersecurity incident affecting the CodeRED alert and warning platform, operated by our third-party vendor. CodeRED is the system behind the County’s SoCoAlert system. This is a nationwide vendor side incident and is not a breach of any County systems or networks. There is no active emergency in Sonoma County. Read full story
RFP Electronic Health Records System
The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (Department) is pleased to invite you to respond to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Electronic Health Records System. The Department is seeking a vendor that has experience providing comprehensive EHR systems in a California County Department or Division of Public Health Services. The system should be a single, comprehensive solution to address public health and medication and case management workflows and documentation. 2025 Notice of Funding Opportunity CoC Program Competition and Sonoma County CoC Request for Proposals
On November 13, 2025, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for 2025 Continuum of Care Funds. Sonoma County applicants are eligible to compete for a combined total of approximately $4.2 million in new and renewal FY 2025 Continuum of Care (CoC) project funding. In total, $4,261,805 is available for both existing renewals and new project proposals. Read full story
