Notice of Funding Availability - Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) Funds Available for Affordable Owner-Occupied Workforce Housing (AOWH)
Eligible applicants are reminded that the CDC is currently accepting over the counter applications for Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA) funds to support eligible Affordable Owner-Occupied Workforce Housing (AOWH) projects in Sonoma County outside of the city limits of Santa Rosa and Petaluma.

Sonoma County issues health advisory due to poor air quality from Chileno Fire
The Sonoma County Health Officer today issued the following health advisory: Areas of southern Sonoma County may experience "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups", "Unhealthy", or “Very Unhealthy” air quality caused by the wildfire event in Marin County near the Marin and Sonoma County boarder. Certain people may experience adverse health effects from the smoke over Sonoma County and across the region. High temperatures can worsen effects of high Air Quality Index (AQI) events. Below are some things you can do when the air quality is poor.
Supervisor Lynda Hopkins to cohost sea otter awareness event on September 12
The public is invited to attend an event on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Doran Beach to learn more about sea otters and our local marine ecosystem. The event, cosponsored by Sea Otter Savvy and Supervisorial District 5, will include a sea otter sand sculpture competition.
Sonoma County advances ordinance restricting retail sales and distribution of nitrous oxide
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday advanced an ordinance that would restrict the retail sale and distribution of nitrous oxide and nitrous oxide-dispensing devices in the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County. The proposed ordinance is intended to address growing public health, safety and environmental concerns associated with the non-medical inhalation of nitrous oxide while preserving access for legitimate medical, dental, culinary, automotive, industrial and research purposes
