On March 1, 2025, Probation staff participated in the Sonoma County Polar Plunge at Doran Beach which raised a total of $54,345 for local Special Olympic athletes. Probation won the best costume contest dressed as unicorns.

Probation Staff Participated in Shop with a Cop with R-Hoops
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, we had the privilege of participating in R-Hoops 3rd Annual “Shop with a Cop” event at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Santa Rosa. Ten kids from the Sonoma County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association Basketball program attended the event. Each athlete was paired with an officer. Patrol Deputies, Correctional Deputies, and Community Service Officers from the Sheriff’s Office attended, and we were fortunate to send Deputy Probation Officer, Heidi Olvera, from our Adult Division to represent the Probation Department.

Two Sonoma County Probation employees honored with statewide awards
The Sonoma County Probation Department is proud to announce that two of its dedicated staff members, Juvenile Correctional Counselor II Roman Jordan and Juvenile Correctional Counselor III Scott Isaac, have been recognized by the California Association of Probation Institution Administrators for their exceptional service, leadership and innovation in juvenile justice.
Sonoma County Probation partners with local artists on Juvenile Hall mural project
The Sonoma County Probation Department has partnered with artists Amanda Lynn and MJ Lindo-Lawyer to create nine large murals at Sonoma County Juvenile Hall. The project was funded through AB 178, which supports improvements to juvenile halls in California, and the Youth Programs and Facilities Grant Program Part A, which helps redesign therapeutic and programming spaces.
