Behavioral Health Board Biographies

District 1 - Rebecca Hermosillo

Peterson E. Pierre DNP, MSN, RN,
President, Lambda Gamma Chapter
Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing

Peterson joined the board in 2019 and currently serves as President of the Lambda Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), where he earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. He also holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Management from Sonoma State University.

Peterson has over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings. His advanced practice training is in Nurse Anesthesia, and he currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Nursing. He continues to practice in the acute care setting in Sonoma County.

Throughout his career, Peterson has been a strong advocate for mental health equity in clinical environments. He has observed significant delays in the transfer of psychiatric patients to inpatient behavioral health facilities and hopes to see systemic improvements in how behavioral health care is prioritized.

In addition to his work with Sigma, Peterson has served on multiple committees and held leadership roles in professional organizations at both the regional and national levels.

District 2 - David Rabbitt

Brad Katuna

Brad is a recently retired public school teacher, having taught math and science for 30 years. He has witnessed the increasing need for mental health support for adolescents in Marin and Sonoma counties. He joined the board just last year in order to utilize this extensive front-line experience and team with other concerned citizens to improve the mental health of our community.

Weekends are mostly spent with his wife, beagle, and playing bass in a rock and roll dance band.

Don O'brien

I am a father of six and a Sonoma County resident since 1976. I have a BA in English literature from SF State University and a Masters in humanities from Dominican University. I have served the boards of the Petaluma Boys and Girls Club, the Petaluma People Services Center, and the Cinnabar Theater. Most recently, I served for a short time on the board of Sonoma Applied Village Services where I remain as a volunteer. I believe in freedom and justice for all.

Josefa Molina

Josefa Molina is a licensed psychologist and has more than 40 years of experience in the mental health field, spanning direct clinical services, teaching and supervision, program development, behavioral health administration, and policy implementation. She retired as Director of Behavioral Health for a Federally Qualified Health Center, where she worked within an integrated behavioral health and primary care system. She currently provides behavioral health services through telehealth at Rula Health.

Throughout her career, Josefa has worked in public mental health and community-based settings, with a particular commitment to culturally responsive care and underserved communities. Her experience includes work with Latino and Native American communities in Arizona and diverse communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

As a Training Director, difficulty recruiting Spanish-speaking Latino mental health providers led Josefa to teach and mentor new providers from the community, encouraging them to build careers serving their own communities.

Josefa also has experience implementing behavioral health policy, including California’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), and working within systems integrating mental health and substance use services in both San Francisco and Arizona. She brings this experience to the Sonoma County Behavioral Health Board as the county continues to transform and integrate its behavioral health services.

Her commitment is also personal. As a family member of people affected by mental health challenges, Josefa has experienced the difficulty families can face obtaining appropriate services for someone they love. This experience has deepened her commitment to improving access to culturally responsive care, particularly for people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions, and to ensuring that the voices and needs of families are represented within the behavioral health system.

District 4 - James Gore

Ana Booker

Ana Booker brings direct community service and a family perspective to Sonoma County’s behavioral health work. Since moving to the county in 2016, she has supported survivors of domestic violence at Legal Aid of Sonoma County and in the domestic violence courtroom, helped wildfire survivors through the Council on Aging’s CA HOPE program, and connected residents with services through West County Community Services. She now helps people navigate care following a mental health crisis and is a peer support specialist.

Ana’s commitment is deeply personal. Her sister Hazel was diagnosed with paranoid psychosis/schizophrenia in December 2020 and died by suicide on February 14, 2021. At the time, their family did not have the information to understand that Hazel’s behaviors could be signs of a mental health condition. That loss drives Ana’s work to make information and support easier for families to find.

A bilingual advocate, Ana is committed to equitable, compassionate care for all of Sonoma County residents. She brings firsthand knowledge of the barriers people face when seeking help and works to ensure that individuals and families are heard when behavioral health services are planned and evaluated.

Lindsy Morrison

Lindsy joined the Board in 2026.  She is a healthcare executive specializing in behavioral health operations, with extensive experience leading psychiatric teams and driving organizational performance.  Lindsy is passionate about advancing access to behavioral health services and strengthening systems of care across the continuum.  She brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to leadership and is committed to building partnerships that improve community health.  As a member of the Sonoma County Behavioral Health Board, Lindsy contributes her expertise to support policy development, expand access to care, and promote high quality, patient-centered behavioral Health Services.

District 5 - Lynda Hopkins

Jason Reid

My name is Jason Reid, I am a 45-year old resident of Santa Rosa. I am currently employed at the Santa Rosa Junior College as a certified Peer Educator and Success Coach as well as a full-time student working towards degrees in Social Work and Human Services: Addiction Studies and Social and Behavioral Science. I am the President of the Students for Recovery club on campus that holds weekly all-recovery meetings, and participates in on and off-campus tabling events in the recovery and harm reduction sector.

I also hold a leadership role in The Second Chance/Rising Scholars Program for justice impacted students. I am highly engaged and active in the community and volunteer as Co-Facilitator for a men’s workshop hosted by Equi-Sense and sponsored by the Zane Templin Foundation. Additionally I serve the Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend annual rite of passage adventure camp in a mentorship capacity. I am passionate about wielding my lived experience, energy and fortitude to give back to my community and look forward to representing the 5th district on this board.
