Internship Program

The County of Sonoma is committed to encoaraging students to consider public service as a career, and as a result establishing and maintaining our relationship with colleges and universaties to atract students to public service. An internship is a valuable collaboration between career-oriented student and an organization with a shared learning focus. 

An internship is an opportunity for a student to gain hands-on training and career experience to accentuate their academic focus and ultimate goals, and for the organizaton to utilize motivated, and interested students to aid in the completion of their goals while providing and ecellent service to the student community. 

Things to consider: 

  • You must be enrolled in school in order to be an intern.
  • Interns are Extra-Help employees and there are limits to the nu,ber of hours they work in a year. 
  • Paid and unpaid internships are offered. 
  • Not all departments offer internships due to the nature of their work.
