Sonoma County advances equitable electric vehicle charging plan
The County of Sonoma is seeking community feedback on the Sonoma County EV Master Plan survey, an interactive map that shows existing and potential electric vehicle charging locations. Residents, including both current EV drivers and those who do not yet own an EV, are invited to share input based on their own travel patterns, access to charging, and anticipated EV use to help shape where future charging stations may be most needed. The survey will remain open for feedback through the end of January 2026 and will inform the County’s Equitable Electric Vehicle Charging Plan. Read full story

County of Sonoma’s annual State of the Retirement System report
The annual report, which was recommended by the Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury in 2015, is published by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors to promote transparency and accountability in pension oversight. The Board of Supervisors has made it a priority to reduce unfunded pension liabilities in order to preserve funding for essential services and maintain the health of the pension system during market downturns. Robert Pittman, Sonoma County Counsel, announces retirement after 35 years of public service
After 35 years in public service, including the past 14 years with the County of Sonoma, County Counsel Robert Pittman has announced his retirement, effective January 2026. Pittman has served as County Counsel since September 2020, guiding the Office of County Counsel through significant challenges and milestones. He began his career as a city planner in Artesia, California, before attending law school with the goal of becoming a public agency attorney. Read full story

Sonoma County creates online hub to help communities reduce wildfire risk
Sonoma County today announced the launch of SonomaCountyResilient.org, a new website that makes it easier than ever to find information and funding for land management projects that reduce wildfire risk and protect local ecosystems. The website will serve as a one-stop hub for residents, landowners, resource managers and organizations seeking technical assistance, funding and practical tools for local forest and watershed management projects. Sonoma County plans for reenvisioned government center by 2030
Within five years, County employees will have offices in a new five-story office building being planned for the current County Government Center at 585 Administration Drive in Santa Rosa. That was the vision that was presented to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today. Read full story

Public hearings on 2025-2026 Sonoma County budget to begin June 10
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual budget hearings on Tuesday, June 10 at 9 a.m. Public comment is welcome at the opening of the hearings, which may continue June 11 and 13 if needed. At the conclusion, the board will adopt a spending plan for the 2025-2026 fiscal year beginning July 1. Read full story
