Happy New Year and welcome to 2026! Yesterday, I was nominated by my board colleagues to serve as the Chair of the Board of Supervisors for the year ahead. I am honored to take on this role, and it is not lost on me that I am the first Latina Chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. I am proud to serve the residents of the First District and the entire county, and I look forward to guiding our board in 2026.

Dear Friends, I can't believe that 2025 is already coming to a close! We packed a lot into the last twelve months, and I have enjoyed getting out and speaking with community members from every corner of the First District. It has been my privilege to serve as your First District Supervisor, and I'm so excited for the years to come. Dear Friends, So much of what we do locally is shaped by decisions made at the Federal or State level. I am often reminded that while much of the work to strengthen our community happens locally, the decisions currently being made at the federal level have very real detrimental impacts right here in our community.
