Representing: Alexander Valley Association
3rd Term: 01/01/2025 to 12/31/2027
Sarah Hafner has served on the Council as the representative for the Alexander Valley Association. She has lived in Alexander Valley since 1982 on her husband’s family vineyard. A graduate of UC Davis, Sarah worked for Sunset Magazine before moving to Alexander Valley. Her husband’s family owns a vineyard and winery (Hafner Vineyard) where both she and her husband, Parke work. They raised their two daughters, Kate and Grace, on the ranch. Both daughters now work at Hafner Vineyard.
Sarah has volunteered in many capacities including serving on the Board of Trustees at the Alexander Valley Union School District and Sonoma Academy. Other recent Board service includes the Alexander Valley Association, the Advisory Board of Providence Hospice, Healdsburg Forever, COPE Alexander Valley and UC Davis Dean’s Advisory Council.
A former runner, Sarah now logs those same miles walking through the vineyard with her yellow labrador, Sally. For Sarah, the greatest pleasure of living at Hafner Vineyard are the frequent visits of her grandchildren, Marie and Cole.
