Comments are restricted to matters within the Council's jurisdiction. Please be brief. Due to Brown Act regulations, this is not a time for discussion of any item, however a brief dialogue about considering an item for a future agenda is permitted. - County Report from Supervisor Hopkins / Staff: Discussion

Comments from the public regarding matters of general interest not on the agenda, but related to the Sonoma Coast MAC business. Pursuant to the Brown Act, the Sonoma Coast MAC cannot consider issues or take action on any requests during this comment period. Due to time constraints, comments will be limited at the discretion of the Chair. - 2026 Community Engagement & Outreach Plan Update: Discussion
The Council will have an opportunity to review the current Community Engagement & Outreach Plan and discuss priorities, outreach methods, and ways to strengthen engagement with all segments of the community in 2026.
Following Council input, the Chair may establish an ad hoc committee composed of representatives who will continue serving in 2026. This committee will work with staff to draft an updated engagement and outreach plan, drawing on Council feedback and community needs. The ad hoc committee will present recommendations and a draft plan for Council review at a future meeting.
Retired Coast MAC leaders Scott Farmer, Marti Campbell, and Brian Leubitz will join the conversation as panelists. - Selection of 2026 Chair: Discussion, Possible Action
The Council will consider the selection of the Chair for the 2026 term. The Chair plays a vital leadership role, presiding over meetings, guiding the Council’s work, collaborating on agenda development, and representing the Council in communications with the District Supervisor and the public.
As part of this process, Council members may nominate candidates for the Chair position. The current Chair has expressed both availability and willingness to continue serving in the role for another term, should the Council so choose. The selected Chair will serve for one calendar year. - Selection of 2026 Vice Chair: Discussion, Possible Action
The Council will consider the selection of the Vice Chair for the 2026 term. The Vice Chair supports the Chair in leadership responsibilities, presides over meetings in the Chair’s absence, assists in guiding the Council’s work, collaborates on agenda development, and helps represent the Council in communications with the District Supervisor and the public.
As part of this process, Council members may nominate candidates for the Vice Chair position. The current Vice Chair has expressed both availability and willingness to continue serving in the role for another term, should the Council so choose. The selected Vice Chair will serve for one calendar year. - 2026 Meeting Calendar: Discussion, Possible Action
Adopt the following dates as the regular meeting schedule for the Sonoma Coast MAC in 2026, to be held on the 4th Thursday of every odd-numbered month, except for November, which will be held on the 3rd Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday:- January 22, 2026

- At the January meeting, the Council will discuss priorities and potential agenda items for 2026.
Open Meetings: Except as expressly authorized under the Ralph M. Brown Act (the State’s local agency open meeting law), all meetings of the Coast Municipal Advisory Council are open to attendance by interested members of the public.
Agenda Comments: The Chair will invite public comment for agenda items as they are taken up by the Committee. If you wish to speak, you may do so upon receiving recognition by the Chair. Please state your name and limit your comments to the agenda item under discussion. Speakers are limited to two minutes each; available time for comments is determined by the Committee Chair based on agenda scheduling demand and total number of speakers.
Public Comment for Items Not on the Agenda: Any member of the public may address the Committee on a matter not listed on the agenda as long as the subject matter is within the jurisdiction of the Committee . If you wish to speak, you may do so upon recognition by the Committee Chair. While members of the public are welcome to address the Committee, under the Brown Act open meeting laws, Committee members may not deliberate or take action on items not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to two minutes each; available time for comments is determined by the Committee Chair based on agenda scheduling demands and total number of speakers.
